Music school enrolment 2024

We continue to receive so many enquiries about the Music School that we decided to extend the application period for new students as follows:

  • The application period for piano, violin, classical singing, singing school and percussion will be extended until 7 April 2024.

  • The application for other instruments will be open until 21.4.2024.

ENROLMENT IN MUSIC SCHOOL, INSTRUMENT SELECTION AND RESULTS

  • Places will be allocated to some instruments on a first-come, first-served basis, but it may not be possible to guarantee a place on the instrument that was the applicant's preferred choice. The allocation of places is based, for example, on the age of the applicant and his/her suitability for the instrument in question. Furthermore, not all instruments offer the same number of places. Depending on the situation, an applicant may be offered a place on a secondary instrument or on another instrument in the same group as the primary instrument.

  • Applicants will be invited to an instrument selection session, if necessary. The instrument selection will take place from 16 to 17 April, mainly between 12:00 and 20:00, at the Tampere Conservatoire, F. E. Sillanpään katu 9. The possible instrument selection date will be sent to the applicant by e-mail by 8 April 2024.

  • The results of the student selection will be announced on 29.4.

  • Places must be received by 13.5.

  • The waiting list can still be used to admit pupils if there are cancellations.

  • For enquiries regarding the selection of pupils, please contact Reetta Aarre-Ahtio, Assistant Principal: reetta.aarre-ahtio@tampereenkonservatorio.fi

TRANSFER APPLICANTS

If you are applying for a transfer from another music school, please send a free application to the Assistant Principal at reetta.aarre-ahtio@tampereenkonservatorio.fi. In addition to the application, please send your transcript of records and any certificates of previous studies as an e-mail attachment or by post to Tampere Conservatory, F.E. Sillanpää Street 9, 33230 Tampere.

Applicants for transfer will be asked to provide a playing sample, if necessary. As a rule, the date of the sample is at the time of the instrument selection, either 16.4. or 17.4.2024. The exact date of the possible call sample will be sent to the applicant by e-mail by 8 April.

TUITION FEE AND APPLICANTS FROM OUTSIDE TAMPERE
